Cora
Miles is believed to be the daughter and perhaps youngest child of Daniel
B. and Arthema [nee Jaquemine] Miles, who were married 04 Jan 1859 in Adams
Co., MS. Both were born in MS, but for a time the couple lived in
Old River, Chicot Co., AR where Daniel worked as a brick layer. It
is believed that Daniel died between 1874 and 1880, as he is not enumerated
on the 1880 census with the family. In 1880 and 1886 Arthema was
living with her children in the 4th Ward, Natchez. Her occupation
was listed as seamstress.
