The
Graves Pack Line
(The
VA-WV-KY Packs)
.
Original
Immigrant: Graves Pack ca. 1700.
This
line has been traced back to Thomas PACK, Req., of Ballynakill, Queens
County, England, born about 1560.
.Other
Old World surnames connected to this line are thought to be:
Rev.

Major-General
Sir. Dennis PACK, K.C.B, K.T.S.
Col.
Arthur John Reynolds PACK of Haisford, England
Sir

Graves
PACK, born about 1680, England
.
Graves
PACK had at least three sons:
Simon
PACK, b 1715
Jopseph
PACK, b about 1718
(Simon
and Joseph are believed to have settled in the Carolinas)
Samuel
PACK, b about 1720
.
Samuel,
b about 1720, had at least two sons both born in VA:
Samuel
PACK, b about 1755
George
PACK, b about 1757
.
Samuel
and George spent their early years together, eventually settling in the
New River area of VA, where both married and began families.
Samuel
married Mary FARLEY, the daughter of Frances FARLEY, Sr, and Elizabeth
CROSTIC. Samuel and Mary remained in VA, and most of their descendants
spent one or more generations in VA before moving into the Carolines, Tennesse,
Oklahoma, and points west.
George
left VA around 1805, and migrated into the Floyd/Lawrence County area of
KY with his second wife, Elizabeth BROWN, and the children from his first
marriage to Mary BROWN.
Most
descendants of George PACK remained in KY, but several migrated into Wayne
and Lincoln
County in today's WV, in about 1850. An appreciable number
of descendants still live in KY and WV.
