King George of England granted Joseph Carroll PACK 20,000 acres of land in the state of South Carolina (around the 1600's) called Paxville, SC. The name originally was "Packsville" but because of "Parksville" SC post office, the mail was going to the wrong town.
This family settled
mostly in the Carolinas before branching into TN.
