THIS INTERESTING OLD CEMETERY LIES FAR BACK IN THE HILLS NORTH OF NATCHEZ OFF THE PINE RIDGE ROAD. THE KIBBE FAMILY WAS AMONG THE TERITORIAL SETTLERS, HAVING COME TO THE NATCHEZ DISTRICT DURING THE EARLY 1800'S.

THE ABOVE INFORMATION IS TAKEN FROM THE W.P.A. ADAMS COUNTY HISTORICAL RESEARCH PROJECT, PROJECT #2986. THE SURVEY OF THIS CEMETERY WAS DONE BY JOSEPHINE WALKER AND AMANDA PHIPPS. IT WAS COMPLETED MARCH 27TH, 1937.

THIS CEMETERY WAS RE-SURVEYED IN JUNE 1981 BY MRS. L. R. McGEHEE, ROUTE 6, BOX 223, NATCHEZ, MS 39120.

MRS. McGEHEE'S SURVEY CONFIRMS THE ABOVE DATES. SHE DOES FIND THAT THE NAME ON #3 IS KIBBE RATHER THAM KEMBALL. MRS. McGEHEE HAS SUPPLIED AN EXACT LOCATION - "THIS CEMETERY IS LOCATED IN A WOODED AREA WEST OF THE ROAD THAT GOES FROM PINE RIDGE TO CHURCHILL IN SEC. 33, T9N, R11E."
